Mr. Abu Bakarr Deen is an embittered young man living in Jaiama Nimikoro Kono District Eastern Region of Sierra Leone for the past three years and is presently no where to be found having being declared WANTED by the secret society- Poro . Abu Bakarr Deen has been a symbol of pride and humility who is well loved in the community he resides.
Abu Bakarr Deen lost his father in late 2022 and it is belief that Abubakarr Deen’s father was a chieftain of the Poro Society a secret society notorious for its human blood drinking process of initiation into the Poro Society. This blood drinking aspect of the initiation process is completely barbaric , outdated and lacking any sense of moral decency.
The death of Abu Bakarr Deen’s father who is a Chieftain of the Poro Society brought about the recent travails of Abu Bakarr Deen. Immediately after the death of Deen’s father a powerful meeting between the elders of the Poro Society and the family of Abu Bakarr Deen was organized .
At the end of the meeting it was decided that the vacant position of Deen’s father in the Poro Society has to be filled by Abu Bakarr Deen which he vehemently refused to takeover the mantle of leadership in the Poro Society.
Abu Bakarr Deen’s reasons were that the Poro Society is like worshiping two gods at the same time which negates his Christianity faith and moreso he cannot undergo the initiation rites of the Poro Society which involves drinking human blood.
Abu Bakarr Deen maturity and insistence of not joining the Poro Society drew the wrath of the Poro Society and they planned to deal with him because they believed that since Abu Bakarr Deen’s father had vowed and sworn to the society then there is no turning back, Abu Bakarr Deen is the heir apparent to the position of authority in the Poro Society Abu Bakarr Deen drew a lot of public attention to himself as his refusal of joining the Poro society was equally met with stiff opposition and blood bath.
The Poro society’s members were drawn from all types young people. Abu Bakarr Deen was arrested and had to be taking to the evil forest for initial rite but in the wee hours of darkness Abu Bakarr Deen escaped from his captors in the evil forest and from there managed to cross to the Sierra Leone neighbouring country where a Good Samaritan helped him to Europe. His location is yet to be ascertained to date
